Photoshop CS 4
Who's using Photoshop CS4? Anyone? Class? Bueller?

Ram recs on the Adobe page are for 1GB (512 minimum, but that's just laughable). I'm comparing 2 Macs, both Intel duo core with minimal difference in processor speed (2.4 vs 2.66). One maxes out at 4GB, the other at 8GB.

If you're using, is 4GB comfy for print resolution size graphics? Or do you walk the dog waiting for that 800MB file to open?

I use PS CS4. I have a quad processor with 8 gig ram expandable to 32 gig. Seems to be doing fine so far. I can assign processing power to specific apps.

I think 4 gig ram should be fine with a duo processor.

That sounds like a nice setup! The Macbook I'm getting tops out (officially) at 4GB (unofficially at 6) and I was hoping that machine would do for awhile since I'd rather get the discontinued model + a bigger monitor vs twice as much $$ for the latest Macbook Pro.

Thanks! :-)
